RE: Favorite Ground beef recipes, any new ones?

Old childhood favorite
Brown ground beef in a pan. Mix in water and flour to make a gravy. Then add a can of peas. Pour over mashed potatoes. Salt and pepper to taste.

RE: Hitch/Reciver Locks

That red thingy is an orbital coupler by Brinks. I also got mine at Wallmart. It came with a dogbone keyed the same.
Here is a website with more locks for your trailer.

RE: Ventline Fan ?

I replaced the motor with one from Radio Shack for under $6. "Super Speed 9-18VDC Hobby Motor Model: 273-256 Catalog #: 273-256" I found directions on how to take the vent apart here http://rvtravel.com/blog/rvnow/2007_04_01_archive.html
Make sure the seat is down before you begin.
Go almost halfway down the page to "Making Your Bathroom Vents Sparkle Like New"
Just gently pull the fan blade off and there are 2 screws holding the motor on the metal frame. Then slide the eletrical connectors off the motor. On my trailer it fit with no modifications. You will also want to make sure the air flow is in the right direction before you put everything back together.

RE: Thank goodness I found this forum!!!!!

Welcome. One thing that was not talked about is do you have a place to keep your TT. You will want to check local ordenaces and/or HOA rules. We did not think about that but are lucky enough to have nice neibors as half of our trailer is on their side of the property line.

RE: My truck doesn't want to go camping

I had the same problem the first time we ever went camping with our new trailer(also we were new to the RV world and never camp in a trailer before). The night before I worked the night shift 10PM to 6AM went to bed at 730AM got up at 11AM to go take delivery of our new camper. Everything was going wrong that day and we were already 1 hour late when I went to get in the TV and the rear driver side was sitting kind of low. Checked the tire and it had less than 15 lbs of air in it. Had the wife pull forward it until I found the screw in it. Removed the screw and plugged it while the tire was still on the TV. Then drove 45 minutes, get the trailer do the paperwork and walk through then drive 3 hours up into PA and camp. Got there at 9:30PM. Got lots of help from other campers parking and setting up. By the way that was the 4th time I fixed a tire with out taking it off the vehicle(different SUV's over several years).

RE: Entry Door Locks - Key# EF317. Do you have one too?

You may want to check other keys you have like the Garden shed key. When I mowed the grass last week I noticed it was also a CH751.

RE: 4040 lb TT pulled by 6000 lb capacity TV?

We use to tow our TT (Keystone Passport 4015 Dry)with a Jeep Grand Cherokee that had the V8 & tow package. I did not like it at all. Traveling to and from WV I could not get it to go above 45 on steep grades. Now we have a Navigator. All I can say is wow what a difference. It even backs up better.

RE: Anyone move their TT with a lawn/garden tractor?

been there done that. 15 hp lawn tractor will move a 6000# trailer on level ground. but stopping can become a problem, unless you have someone at the ready to throw wheel chaulks under the tires.
Why cant you just rig a switch to the 7-pin connector on the Trailer and let it stop its self or pull the safty wire for the break (make sure you have a good charged up battery first).

RE: Grand Cherokee can haul a Travle Trailer?

We have a 1996 Grand Cherokee 5.2 V8, tow package and 115,000 miles. We pulled our Passport 200QS (4200 lbs dry) all over for one season then it quit on us going up a mountain (going up mountains it went 40mph at best and had to use the truckers slow lane to the right)just as we got to the top with my 5 yr old DD and my pregnent DW in the jeep. After being told we did not have RV PLUS on our AAA(a very long story for another time) I got the manual and found that the Power Train Control Module fuse blew out (30amp) we were on our way or at least until we got 2 minutes from the house then it blew again. Later found a o2 sensor wire shorted out. We now have a used 2007 Lincon Navigator with the tow package and a pakage of extra fuses. Wanted a used Ford Expedition but got a good deal on the Navigator. I am glad we have the Navigator it pulls much better and does not get wipped around like the Grand Cherokee did. Now I have to talk the wife into a bigger trailer LOL.

Rear-ended worried about hitch bolts

I was rear-ended Wednesday in the rain in my new TV a 2007 Lincoln Navigator. I am worried about stress on the hitch bolts. The est. for repair was $2100. There does not look like there is any body damage but the bumper and its cover need replaced. There are no problems with the rear door closing or latching. The exhaust now points at angle down. The other car was a 1999 Toyota corolla with the following damage: smashed headlights accordion hood and radiator bracket was bent at an angle. Their hood could not latch closed. The car was drivable, its fenders did not touch the tires an no fluids were leaking. Do I need the hitch bolts or hitch relaced? Also I was wondering about this and I was thinking that the emergency brake wire would not work if the hich frame came off the TV. Can I please have your comments and experiance on this? Thanks in advance.
